Thinking about what AI has done to images - flattened them into a hall of mirrors in which nothing is believable. I'm more interested now in the direct bodily experience of artmaking. Not that AI art isn't art, but this moment makes me feel so existential, it feels so empty

Sadly, @WabKinew seems poised to join the long list of NDP premiers who failed to reform the undemocratic first-past-the-post system that brought them to power.
If he does decide to run federally, someone needs to ask if he’s ready to say this during the leaders’ debate:

1981 census, Vancouver was 85% white.
2021 census, Vancouver was 43% white.
The city built & inhabited by white European immigrants for a century was lost in a mere 40 years.
Every major city in Canada is seeing its white population diminished by mass migration from India & other Asians/African places.

I wasn’t a racist until Trudeau decided to bring MILLIONS & MILLIONS of unskilled cheap labourers from the third world into Canada to depress the wages of the working class. Canada was a wonderful (white) Caucasian dominant society that was also good for immigrants - ruined now.

Doug Ford has increased Ontario’s debt by 50% (to $450 billion) in only 6 years.

This is straight up BS… Biden was the most-pro worker President of my life time- saved Union pensions, created millions of good paying jobs and even marched in a picket line and some of MVP’s plans would have fundamentally transformed the quality of life and closed the racial wealth gap for working people across this country. From the child tax credits, to 25k for a down payment for a house to Medicare covering the cost of senior health care in their homes. There are a lot of post election takes and this one ain’t a good one.

Weird. Seems like the groups most rapidly fleeing the Democratic coalition are the exact ones where Bernie Sanders was strongest (working class, Latinos, Bros!). Maybe that guy was onto something!
