Roy is undoubtedly a good player - and it’s nice to get players for a UFA… but “solving their 3C issue” feels like not the lead story when removing a perennial 100pt player from their lineup. But what do I know I don’t got charts

@SinghHj39 @domluszczyszyn @kschmann I think suddenly Matthews and Knies have to do a LOT more. And im very curious to see how they handle it. I think this hurts Toronto way more than its being reported.

@SinghHj39 @domluszczyszyn And by all accounts they tried - maybe too little too late - to send him to CAR and VGK (apparently for Theodore) but I would’ve been more aggressive with it too.

@domluszczyszyn Totally true and fair. And tidy work adding Maccelli too! I just think Marner leaves a bigger hole than some folks want to recognize. (Not saying that’s you)

Kyrou signed through ‘31 at an 8.125 cap hit.. with Dobson looking for 10+… idk man. Seems too easy!

@NewFiie @redandyellowca1 @jpolly22 Not quite - impt to look at the year of the contract and their cap hit that specific season. Those factors change the total number of dollars. It accounts for salary cap changes year to year, and of course, a players specific AAV in the year they’re referencing on the chart.

@redandyellowca1 @jpolly22 how do you get different numbers on the same % in todays cap. Everyone who was getting 15% of the cap in previous years would be at 13.2 mil in todays cap lol
