Celebrating a Better Than Imagined future in motion...
Josh Miller@joshm

Some news: I’ve joined the Board of UCLA’s Cancer Center (@UCLAHealthJCCC). My godfather battled cancer for decades. My mom beat it and my dad is going through it too. It’s a vicious disease… but I truly believe we can beat it in our lifetime. UCLA has long been at the forefront. It’s a public hospital that serves the most diverse, populous county in all of America. UCLA’s Cancer Center discovered the first targeted therapy for breast cancer (impacting millions of women). And it has had 27 FDA approvals since 2017. The Jonsson Center is elite. What gets me so excited is how much more is newly possible thanks to AI. It’s mind-bending to hear Dr. Teitell speak about what we might be able to do… if we collectively care enough! Beating cancer will take human will. That’s why I’m so inspired to put my money and time where my mouth is, and try to contribute whatever I can to bring a cancer-free future forward. AI is going to rock our world, in all sorts of ways… we owe it to ourselves to wield it for the public good too. Please reach out if you’d like to learn how you can get involved. I’d love to help bring the best and brightest together — in sunny Los Angeles — to help the scientists, engineers, doctors, and more at UCLA do the work that might save your loved ones’ lives in the future. DMs open!

@fidjissimo what a journey we have been on since your first day as a PM at Facebook to becoming CEO of Instacart and taking it public. Turning Instacart around in 2 years and leading your teams to deliver 5 straight quarters of profitability in this economy. Bravo.
Fidji Simo@fidjissimo

So excited to be taking Instacart public today! The last two years have been a wild ride, but I’m really proud of the business this team has built, turning us into an enduring and profitable company that delivers a critical service to millions of people.

@JosefiinaIda @lolawajs yes big fan of the power of play! Learning is turning knowldge into a skill and that is best done in a state of play. That's why my Foundations of Inner Power fellowship is grounded in play and exploration. We just kicked off our 10th edition today!

My job began to feel better and infinitely more productive when I started thinking about work less in terms of work and more in terms of play.

Sent my mom some photos and videos of @MetrodoraInst. She said, “how can I be a patient there? I must have something wrong with me?” 😂 Y’all, it is so beautiful! They have robes for patients instead of those awful hospital gowns. #POTS #EDS #Metrodora

I'm back in NYC and the difference between this city and San Francisco is astounding. The streets are bustling, I haven’t seen a single drug encampment, and the sidewalks are glass-free. Last night I walked at 1am without a worry in my mind… This is what cities should be.

I asked people to name their favorite book about creativity—and what creative answers I got back! The full list is below. What strikes me is how varied the responses were—only a handful of books showed up more than once . . .

@HHorsley That’s a big part of what we cover in Foundations of Inner Power. Slow is smooth works for our physiology, reduces friction and thus is very fast. When we learn how to shift our nervous system back to safety, we can navigate the unknown with resilience.
