Primary 6/7 have been using the @scottish_water Keep Scotland Flowing resource and one group came up with this campaign video to save water @NAC_STEM #ThisisLfS

Sustainable Development Goals are a key part of learning in Lamlash Primary. @NAC_STEM

P6/7 have been learning about water & were looking at how water may act in flooding situations by examining the speed & power of water along with saturation of surface & space it fills. This explained what happened in Lamlash last Friday when homes were flooded. @NAC_STEM

Primary 6/7 are learning about water through @scottish_water Keep Scotland Flowing. They were hydrologists & measured the playground to calculate run off for October. Allowing for some absorption on grass there would have been over 400 cubic metres. @NAC_STEM #outdoorlearning

Yesterday P6/7 went outside to complete 3D object construction challenges. A bit chilly but some great teamwork and collaboration @NAC_STEM #outdoorlearning

Primary 6/7 have been learning about geology and classifying rocks this week. Lots of uses for rocks, careers and links to #SDGs It's amazing though how chocolate can be classified into sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic @NAC_STEM

Primary 6/7 went outside the other day to use nature as a stimulus for #WorldPoetryDay to make a start to 'Fibs' poems using the Fibonacci sequence #outdoorlearning @NAC_STEM

Today saw the start of National Coding Week at Lamlash Primary School - some of Primary 6/7 were sharing coding activities they have identified from @hourofcode @NAC_STEM @RosJLee #STEMnation

Our Creative Connie won the @TheRHET design a rosette competition. They were spotted at the Royal Highland Show for the champion of each of the 29 breeds of sheep. Jane from @RHETAACI came to school to present a copy of the winning design.

It's been a busy week so far with #WorldBeeDay and P6/7 making bee bombs to put in the wildlife garden. Today was #Biodiversity and #NationalNumeracyDay so we combined them with a @microbit_edu coding session to count biodiversity in the playground @NAC_STEM #ThisisLife #SDG15

At assembly pupils considered their rights, links to #SDG's & what those in charge should do - good housing, jobs & food were important. Learning in school to help included how to cook, make things, recycle properly, cure diseases, about animals @NAC_STEM #pupilvoice #ThisisLFS

Primary 6/7 have been clearing out a bed and pots today to clear areas for our wildflower pollinator garden as part of our #leafsoflearning @KSBScotland @NAC_STEM #SDG15 #ThisIsLfs

Primary 5/6 and 6/7 had a fantastic day with @rangers_na and @NAC_STEM visiting the beach and doing a bioblitz in the playground as part of the 'Go Wild!' resource. Amazing what we have on our doorstep! Learning about our biodiversity helps with the @KSBScotland #LEAFProject

The 'Arty Builders' team in Primary 6 from @lamlashprimary and @whitingbayps were selected by the Primary 7's as the winning entry to represent the schools for the #Academy9 #RoadsOfTheFuture challenge which addressed #UNSDGs and used plenty of #metaskills

We held our #BSW24 school science fair run by the STEM Committee. Classes shared their learning along with activities from the school STEM experts! Parents came along to see what was happening and had a go at the paper plane challenge @NAC_STEM #STEMNation
