Modern films are shot wit increasingly shortened schedule and stars are older than ever so it’s much easier to set one giant soft flat source that the production rarely has to touch that makes sure everyone’s skin is soft and to keep things from too late they had to shallow it up
Arthouse Shawn Levy@firagawalkwthme

I would actually love to hear a cinematographer explain why so many movies look like this now? It’s not just marvel, even comedies that are shot on location constantly have this out of focus background that makes everyone look like they’re standing in front of a green screen

@rowdyburns1978 @kungfupete Pete is right. Schedules in early 1990s had more shoot days than similar films now, a lighting set up would have more sources and more hard light and shadow with deeper production design. Kodak ISO on 35mm negative was 50/100/200/400 until 1989. Digital is 800/2000 and up.

@kungfupete You have no clue what you’re talking about at all. I’m sorry dude. For starters that’s Tom Holland on a green screen. Don’t talk about stuff you have no understanding of whatsoever. You just spread bad stuff. Don’t do it again. Thanks dude.

if you ever need a reminder on the importance of physical media/pirating, i just went to watch THEY SHOOT HORSES, DONT THEY? and it is nowhere to stream, nowhere to rent, and the only way to watch it (legally) is buying a dvd that costs 80 dollars… like we gotta avoid this

@sapphicspielbrg Double 10 inch when originally pressed. Don’t think it existed as a 12” until the double 12” pressing of October 2016 as XLLP782B

Not to nitpick but Ralph Fiennes plays KID A on 12’’ vinyl in 28 DAYS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE but I’m pretty sure it was only available on double 10’’ until well after the zombie apocalypse

idk man i think fucking up a venue that’s been integral in allowing you to put on shows and then posting photos of the holes you’ve put in its walls along with your signatures is fucking stupid

@GianmarcoSoresi No shade to Demi but I think this is an L There is a kind of behavior that I describe as wholesome, synonymous to safe, and I apply it to all men regardless of their skin color If a woman saying “I feel safe around you” feels emasculating I think that’s a call to look inward
