As healthcare systems and insurers consolidate, they begin to expand their power and influence leading to massive increases in middle management. This has led to massive increases in healthcare costs.
Cutting physician pay will paradoxically increase the cost of care as it will push more doctors to facilities and insurers, who will subsequently increase costs through higher prices to the consumer or employer.
Consolidation is destroying our healthcare system. It’s time for our government to step in and restore our independent practices

@sgremminger @CarolynMcC If you are that unhappy then find another doctor! Bottom line is physicians are in a highly regulated industry that does not compensate them at an appropriate level. Indeed, Medicare and private insurance reimbursements now lag inflation by over 29% in the past few years.

@CarolynMcC I'm not talking about sometimes. I'm talking about 75% of the doctors' visits I've had in the last decade. My appointment was 9:20! The earliest appointments available at that office are 9:00. And this is an office with 15 MDs/NPs.

I'm at the pediatrician office for a well child visit with my daughter. Appointment was 9:20. Vitals taken and paperwork filled out, but still waiting to see a doctor.
Reason #30584 of why healthcare in the US sucks. Why can every other sector keep appts, but physicians can't?
