In 2016 I entered university to do a foundation degree with one AS Level from ten years prior. I was pregnant during first year. Had a newborn and two kids in second year and a toddler, two kids and a pandemic in third. Today, at 31, I leave with a first class law degree.

I am legitimately over office working so much so that I now turn up to the office in questionable loungewear.

@el_Kindred97 You’re an absolute gem of a human. I’ve signed the contract of employment and there doesn’t seem to be anything other than ‘contact HR’ in there. Probation period is three months - would it be shady to wait until after then?

@laurstudent Was it not on any of the registration stuff?! Depends on the size of the organisation. If it’s a big company, you could probably just email HR as a ‘just to make you aware’ thing? I work in HR so happy if you want to message me x

Lawyers! I’m starting a new job as a conveyancer on Monday. When is it appropriate to inform HR of registered disabilities?

@JEHitchens I’ve had such poor experiences in the past when disclosing so half of me wants to get in and show I can do the job before disclosing and the other half wants to be as upfront as possible. It’s a minefield.

Apparently spite is not a good enough reason to finish a postgraduate degree. I’ve given the university £6k already, I will see these 9 months out if it kills me.

Covid has taken my once extremely active husband completely down. Day seven of a positive test and he’s barely been able to move from the sofa. I’m suffering mildly in comparison, as in, I’m not well but I can move around the house in search of coffee and carbs. Wear your masks.

To clarify: husband is positive, myself and the girls are negative so far 🤞
