Dan Hodges writing in the Daily Mail says. Downing street was approached by at least three other national newspaper journalists with stories relating to Mandelson's vetting process. On each occasion starmers aides flatly denied there had been any issue.

@leigitt @flip_norg @KemiBadenoch @Conservatives @CCACllrs Calling this gov a ‘fix’ is generous at best. You don’t rebuild public services by rewriting policy, losing grip of your Party or bringing back figures like Peter Mandelson. Pretending this is a model gov isn’t sound.

You appointed him before vetting him! December 2024 you announced him. Oliver Robbins wasn’t in the position till jan 2025? But yet you sacked Robbins?

@HagwithAttitude These are Labour bots they are real people who are fed up with trying to get rid of a PM. You would have Corbyn if you had your way he is the antithesis of stable and progressive government.

Matt is right. Something has shifted and people are also less receptive to / more alert to the old narratives. Thanks (in part) to @ZackPolanski, @TheGreenParty has become a more credible option for those focused on people, communities, & the planet. 🔗 join.greenparty.org.uk
Matt Zarb-Cousin@mattzarb

The Green Party has scaled rapidly and is now in a position where it can win a record number of council seats. Labour has spent the past month briefing stories about Green candidates, trying to attack the party for not vetting properly. This week’s revelations are somewhat ironic
