How much a film producer and PVR theatre make if they sell a ticket for ₹200rs.
First, taxes are deducted:
• Tamil Nadu: ₹35 (GST + local body tax 22-23%)
• KA/AP/TS: ₹30 (GST 18%)
• North India: ₹30 (GST 18%)
So only ₹165–₹170 is left for sharing between PVR and Producer.
This is split between theatre (PVR) & producer/distributor
• Producer share ≈ ₹80–85 per ticket
• Theatre takes the rest
Also, splits change weekly based on performance.
