it took me two years to realize that it wasn’t normal for your boyfriend to get mad at you whenever you get harassed or catcalled. it took me two years to learn that freezing in those moments wasn’t my fault—that not being able to defend myself didn’t make me weak, and that experiencing it was never something i deserved. it took me two years to leave that toxic relationship. and i hope we never mistake that kind of love for love again.
