Thanks to @zarahsultana for reading my story from today’s Guardian as part of her powerful Commons speech. Hearing the names of those who have died over the last decade brings home how long we have been fighting this system and the suffering that’s already been caused.

It is significant that Disability Labour - the Labour Party’s official disabled person’s affiliate organisation - has issued a statement that the government’s concessions are insufficient and is calling on all MPs to vote against the benefits Bill on Tuesday.

The “welfare reform bill” is out and let’s be clear: this is not reform - it is devastating cuts. Disabled people will be made poorer, sicker, and more isolated as a result. That it is a Labour government causing this misery will be a mark of shame on the party for years to come.
