Canada's PM, Mark Carney says we can't depend on America.
This is the same Mark Carney whose:
1-Wife lives in the USA
2-4 kids live and study in the USA
3-Owns a home in the USA
4-Company, Brookfield, moved its HQ to the USA
There seems to be a little conflict between what Canada's PM says and what he does, and actions still speak louder that words.
Whats WRONG with this picture?🤔
Waking up to rain clouds on the last day of spring feels like such a gift. 🌧️
Spring is by far my favourite season.. watching the earth come to life, seeing fluffy babies hiding in the brush, jumping in mud puddles!
And of course- romanticizing all the summer fun to come! 🌸
Seeing everyone out walking there dogs in the pouring rain- ☔️
Meanwhile I had to put a coat on mine and sing her a little song this morning for her to stay out long enough to do her business.
They are not all built the same 😂
🚨 ANOTHER $5.4 BILLION FOR CHILDCARE. BUT WHERE ARE THE SPACES? 🚨
The Liberal government has announced another $5.4 BILLION for its childcare program.
Can someone explain how this will actually improve access for families?
Because after years of promises:
📋 Waitlists are still growing.
👶 Parents across Canada are struggling to find spaces.
📉 Ontario’s Auditor General found enrolment among lower-income families receiving childcare subsidies fell by 31% compared to 2019.
🚧 Ontario faces a shortage of thousands of Early Childhood Educators.
💰 Billions have already been spent reducing fees, but affordability means little if families can’t find a spot.
And here’s the question no one seems willing to answer:
❓How many NEW childcare spaces will this $5.4 billion create?
❓How many new ECEs will be hired?
❓How will this help the families who need childcare the most?
Because the goal wasn’t supposed to be better headlines.
The goal was supposed to be helping working families access childcare.
If lower-income families are being left behind, if waitlists are growing, and if parents still can’t find care, then throwing billions more at the same system without a clear plan isn’t a solution.
It’s time for accountability.
Canadians deserve to know where the money is going, and what results they’re getting for it.
