Here's a peak into the heart of our LLA community - the kitchen. Our culinary program feeds the bodies and hearts of all our students, staff, and visitors, and it's also a classroom where students learn safety, communication, and marketable workforce skills. #lifelearning

LLA had a great time at the Teens Tackle Tobacco and Other Drugs Leadership Conference. It was an excellent program and a great way to expose our youth to the UC Berkeley Campus.

We have more students in concurrent college enrollment at Skyline College than ever. This is a huge deal for many of our students, who never thought they would finish high school.

Shout out to SF DA Victim Services Division for presenting on breaking the cycles of teen violence. Every student at LLA enters with the explicit promise to leave violence behind, resulting in a fight free campus for 25 years! @SFDAVictimServices

The Beats,Rhymes and Life van rolled up in our parking lot and it was so much fun. Our students made rhymes, talked about their lives, and saw what a real recording studio looks like. @beatsrhymes&life prove that great work can be a great time!

We are thrilled to offer our first-ever theater elective, thanks to a collaboration with the @African-AmericanShakespeareCompany. Here students engage in a nail biting round of Rock Paper Scissors in a combination classic game and theatrical warmup.

Thanks to Vision to Learn a majority of our students received vision exams and 16 got brand new glasses. LLA health programming includes services as well as education. Thanks to @visiontolearn for providing our youth with a clear view of the future!

We have a goal that all the learning at LLA feels applicable to the real lives of students through project based learning. In Math class, students are learning about percentages and statistics through an equity lense, comparing access to tree cover by demographic.
