WHAT Was Orby Network? ➡️ Launched Feb 2024 as Cronos’ first native decentralized stablecoin lending protocol ➡️ Core product: Deposit collateral (CRO, cdcETH, cdcBTC etc.) into “shuttles” → borrow $USC (overcollateralized, soft-pegged to $1) at 0% interest. No repayment deadlines ➡️ Stability Pool: Deposit $USC to absorb bad debt during liquidations → earn $esORB (convertible to tradable $ORB) ➡️ $ORB captured fees, incentives & rewards. It became a #CROfam staple for cheap leverage + native stable liquidity on VVS Finance WHY Orby Network Failed? 1️⃣ $USC stubbornly traded above peg (5–15% premium) for months because liquidity pools were thin and imbalanced 2️⃣ Borrowers couldn’t repay debt cheaply, they had to buy expensive $USC on the open market, locking collateral and bleeding real value 3️⃣ Redemption only worked below peg 4️⃣ Team silence for weeks/months made it worse 5️⃣ Earlier trust issues never fully healed 6️⃣ Incentives brought farmers but never real organic demand or peg stability 7️⃣ $ORB bled out as revenue never scaled HOW It All Happened Today (March 30, 2026) ✅ Full protocol sunset by Sept 30. ✅ Minting & new collateral paused immediately ✅ Repay & withdraw collateral still open ✅ $USC gets 1:1 redemption (positive, handles ~1M USC until mid-June) esORB cooldown removed → instant $ORB conversion BUT: ❌ No redemption program for $ORB (“still tradable on Cronos”) ❌The main $ORB LP pool was drained minutes before the announcement tweet with ~65k CRO while the community got zero warning A project with genuine innovation (0% borrowing + overcollateralized native stable on Cronos) ended in frustration, broken trust, and what feels like a final self-exit at the expense of the people who actually provided the liquidity and believed in it Either way, if you were affected, or looking for support and more information, read the quoted article below, directly from Orby Team Cronos DeFi deserves better execution, better communication, and a fairer wind-down, especially if more of them are yet to come following the preparations and consolidations towards the @CronosApp This is exactly why transparency and community-first matter in DeFi Only hoping those were lessons learned the hard (and expensive) way And despite being Ambassador, I believe it is important to talk not only about the good, but also about the ugly Let this post serve it's purpose to bring further clarity to the situation

Good Bye Orby! Thank you for the 1:1 $USC redemption. That was the bare minimum to avoid legal consequences of your actions. While I understand the decision and support it, I personally feel completely betrayed by @cryptocom and @CronosApp . Removing the $ORB LP 2 minutes before the announcement - not even giving people a chance to exit - is what I would call a rug pull. It was already dead and wouldn't made much difference on a micro LP of $15k, but desperetaly saving 65k $CRO was salt on the wound. Not that it matters with over 400k CRO losses overall which this protocol brought me, only because I thought I can trust Cronos and Cryptocom team. I provided most of the liquidity for your farms, and my biggest mistake was trusting in your competence and loyalty. Not giving holders any way out and simply pulling the rug is not what I expected from the team. I personally can’t exit my position, and I refuse to sell my assets now that they’re worth pennies because of what you’ve done. "Holders $ORB $ORB is the tradable token of the Orby ecosystem. The Orby Network sunset does not include a specific redemption programme for $ORB." You failed to operate an amazing protocol, and you failed to properly unwind it.
