@elonmusk Sincere input: if Twitter was able to foster a genuine dialog including disagreements, that would make me tweet more. I don't know how to accomplish this BUT without this, the end result is that I end up tweeting to people I trust.

I meet so many people who read twitter every day, but almost never tweet. If I may beg your indulgence, please add your voice to the public dialogue!

@tacertain There is some generous definition of "sun" in the data somewhere. I associate sun with heat and brightness - both in short supply in the Seattle sun. Love both places but not buying that graph ... yet.

Does anyone know if aws s3 & ebs charge per 10^9 bytes or per 2^30 bytes when they say "per GB" ? The word "gigabyte" is a little ambiguous in this sense and I'm aiming for precise cost analysis. (The term "gibibyte" clearly means 2^30 bytes, but "gigabyte" is still ambiguous.)

@mndoci Oh it was bad on the west bound path. Doesn't help that @wsdot_traffic advertised 10PM and decided to close lanes starting this AM.

@somecloudguy A different answer would be to use CloudEndure to replicate to EBS and store data as snapshots (also on S3). It's not zero data loss but can come close depending on replication. Of course, you can use Oracle native tools or other part er solutions as well.

@somecloudguy Synchronous replication but that will add to latency. I don't think the customer would want that.

An AWS customer is asking for "zero data loss" solution to replicate on-premises Oracle database to S3. I tried to explain there's a small issue here- the speed of light, but if any of you AWS wizards have a solution that defies laws of physics, tell me!
