But there are some surprising instruments layered in here as well that help increase the sense of whimsy and bounciness that this video game is famous for (Bang-on Balls has an “overwhelmingly positive” rating on Steam).

Mariachi-style trumpets and strings, the strumming of guitars, guitarrón, and charango, and of course, energetic, high-pitched gritos! Can you hear all of those in this opening minute?

When I got to work with Exit Plan Games on their wacky project, Bang-on Balls: Chronicles, I got to put some of these thoughts into action...

For this most recent Scriptnotes podcast, I wrote an outro in the style of John Williams' Olympic Fanfare. It's always an interesting challenge trying to get the five notes of the Scriptnotes theme (C, E, D, B, C) to fit into pre-existing songs, but I have it my best shot!

When writing the music for Bang-on Balls: Chronicles’ Japan maps, I got to write this wacky, piece that incorporated instruments that don’t normally go together… I think it all ended up working in the end. What do you think?

A while back, I wrote this theme song to help promote an indie graphic novel called Charon 13. It's a Sci-Fi/Spy story, so the references covered things like Mission Impossible, Terminator, James Bond, and a host of other action-y cues. Enjoy this crazy Spy-Fi track...

The amazing documentary my friends created (and for which I composed the music) is playing at THE Chinese Theater in Hollywood this Sunday. It follows a plucky team of kids as they compete/participate in Odyssey of the Mind, and it will make you feel happy, sad, and hopeful.
