But the super ugly wrap at Sun n Fun is not innovative.

@DJSnM @DBSLarsson @gas_biz We recently got a 60 lbs MTOW increase (via SB), so the useful load is now ~500 lbs.

It’s got a 100hp engine and it’s heavier than most aircraft with a similar engine. Even then it’s useful load is terrible and can’t take two people unless they’re light. It suffers from trying to fit into light sport category to ease certification, might be able to carry more load if MOSAIC happens

@preston_holland Embraer offered a Legacy 450 to Preator 500 conversion, adding some 400nm range for ~$500k. Great deal.

Soon you can upgrade a Global 7500 to a Global 8000. Extra 300nm of range and a bit more speed. $3m and 14 days of downtime. I’m not sure of any other OEM upgrade like this in the works. Kinda cool! Considering you spent $75m on the Global 7500.

@FL_Ranger @DJSnM There are two digital AI, both with Slip/Skid Indicators and roll pointers (along with Synthetic Vision). A bit overkill for a VFR plane.

@DJSnM I'm seeing no turn-and-bank indicator, not even a slip ball, and I'm screaming internally.

Today I visited the Icon factory in Vacaville - it’s a really interesting aircraft design. Light Sport so you don’t need a full pilot license, easy to fly, amphibious so it can land on runways, or water. Folding wings, easy to move on the road and store in a garage.
