22 March 1979. First flight of the Lockheed CP-140 Aurora (N64996). Maritime patrol aircraft operated by Canadian Forces Air Command. The aircraft was based on the Lockheed P-3 Orion airframe but supported the electronics suite of the S-3 Viking.

#POTD – Check out this great photo of Petty Officer William Katanna. Born in Sadlow, Manitoba, Katanna joined the RCNVR in 1941. During #WWII he took part in the raid on Dieppe, the landings in North Africa and the Invasion of Sicily.
