This unleashed a tsunami of corporate money into the political process. The entirety that was spent on the presidential campaign was about $300 million. Today, that wouldn’t buy you a Senate seat in New York. This presidential campaign, there’s been about $15 billion of donations. Every since [Citizens United], you’ve seen this systematic shift in wealth upward to the new class that’s actually running our country, because the politicians are completely dependent on millionaires and billionaires to fund them. Please spend seven minutes and listen and understand that this is maybe the most important American statesman and potential leader since Lincoln. No one understands America more, has sacrificed more, or is still willing to give up more for it. No one is in this less for himself and more for the people on the level of Bobby Kennedy.
