(c) Red Hat changes. Almost all tech discussions are completely missing the point. At FOSSY they won't be - they will be about important ways to think about the world of computing. Plus: Portland in the summer. 2023.fossy.us// @conservancy

I'm going to say: if you can you should go to FOSSY. Just the list of things happening in these last and next couple of days means you should go get that level of discussion. (a) twitter going full walled garden; (b) reddit disabling APIs; 2023.fossy.us// @conservancy

@chemsocial there's very little "prep ahead of time", so a couple of days before the start would be fine.

~ 5 year/10 million dollar contract as Head Coach and Chess Director at the University of Los Angeles ~ After successful stints as Head Coach of TTU and Webster University, winning more than all the other Collegiate Chess Programs COMBINED, I had to retire 2 years ago due to health issues. My students achieved unprecedented success: 10 consecutive years at #1 8 PanAm InterCollegiate Championships (7 consecutive) 7 consecutive Final Four Championships Multiple Olympiad Gold 2 World Championships 5 World Open Championships Over 70 National Individual and Team Championships, etc. Now that my health is improving, I hope to achieve even greater success at the University of Los Angeles. @GMHikaru I like the "no Harvard MBAs allowed" - then I thought that on the east coast they posted that after midnight.

@philosophygeek I agree. I'm just on a journey of re-reading Wittgenstein and am cringing somewhat -- it makes me appreciate someone who takes you on a romp *together*.

@markgalassi 💯 though Nietzsche's lack of rigor (I believe) is intentional. He's taking you along a personal journey much like Plato or Augustine or even Descartes.

When you hear "Nietzsche," what comes to mind? Curious even if you're only vaguely familiar with his genius.

(2of2) Only prerequisite: knowing how to type (typically 6th grade in the US), but it's hard work as we quickly move on. Finally: this workshop will be on US-friendly time zone hours, but I am very happy to teach Africa/Europe time zones, or Asian time zones, so let me know...

Time for students to start thinking about summer internships where you get paid to work full time on research in your area of interest. If you are (or someone you know is) in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, please look at the Institute for Computing in Research: [link on next tweet]
