The whole season, people were saying the Reds would be a team that could do well in the playoffs because of Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo, and Andrew Abbott. HG struggled. Lodolo threw 14 pitches. Abbott isn’t going to throw a pitch. Wild.

Some may view tonight as the first game of the NFL Season. I view it as the 1st of 285 opportunities for a Scorigami over the next six months. Buckle up. Football is back.

Very long rant, sorry, again. The son of the owner, CEO, and president of the Reds stood in front of Reds fans piss drunk on Opening Day 2022 just weeks after selling off the best players on a team that just missed the playoffs and said “Well, where ya gonna go?” In response to a prominent Cincinnati radio host (@MoEgger) asking him why Reds fans should have faith in this ownership group. Seriously, that’s not made up. That happened. On opening day, in front of 100s of thousands of people, live on Cincinnati’s #1 radio station, he said that and felt zero shame. He later appeared on a local news channel after the game (looking absolutely buckled) and doubled down on the quote. Our president of baseball operations got up in front of everyone and said their goal is to “eliminate PEAKS and valleys.” That’s real! He said that! What they are doing is intentional. Winning 78-84 games is intentional. So intentional they have mastered how to do it. They have mastered how to hang around in the hunt, never truly in it to be buyers. Never truly out of it to be sellers. Just in it enough to where no national attention or scrutiny will ever come of it. So this is me begging the national media. A father of 2. Im pleading at 10:40 on a Tuesday. When you talk about the worst front offices and ownership groups in baseball, please please please acknowledge the Cincinnati Reds in the conversation. In fact, please lead with them. I’m 30 years old (almost), I have 2 kids. I have never seen the Reds advance in the playoffs. I have never seen the Reds win a home playoff game. They have made the playoffs 5 times (im counting game 163 in ‘99 and whatever 2020 was) in my life and have played 12 playoff games. They have been shutout in 5 of them. This is a bottom 5 organization in all of American sports. Please talk about them in that fashion. Dallas Flash versus Columbus Sliders was the best MLP series of all time, but the fact that they even played was the worst strategic blunder of all time.

Being a Reds fan breaks your heart, but I truly didn't realize how bad it is. The Reds haven't advanced in the postseason in 30 years. That is officially the longest drought of any franchise in MLB, NHL, NBA or NFL. Any fans born after 1995 have never seen it. That makes me sad.

You have to really tip your cap to Tito and this team. Have had some very tough stretches offensively and heart breaking losses-be easy to hit several mental roadblocks but damn they just keep battlin. The @Reds are 6 games over .500 have won 4 of 5 and just got their ace Hunter Greene back from a bad groin injury (threw 6 scoreless last night be Phils). They’re 1 game behind the Mets and closing. Again Tito and those players deserve all the credit-gonna be fun to see how this thing ends up!
