I need to yap about something that has arguably hurt me the most about this whole Valko situation: realizing that so many people in China genuinely despise us for existing and don't think of us as a part of the LADS community. They think that because we are Westerners (or simply not from China), we do not matter and are not entitled to feelings or an opinion. I think for me especially, this hurt an unbelievable amount. I'm someone who has an incredible amount of admiration and respect for Chinese culture, and there are major aspects of my life that are rooted in this beautiful culture. The religion I follow is Daoism, to the extent that I have spent thousands of my own dollars and a year of my entire life coding an app that will bring Daoist resources to people in the USA. I did this solely because I learned about the teachings of Laozi (老子), Zhuangzi (庄子), and Liezi (列子), fell in love with the beautiful philosophy, and quickly realized that there were next to no resources for people to find this in the USA. I started this project in July of last year, almost exactly a year ago. This had led to having translations created for the app, custom meditations, commissioned tradional Chinese art, and music with traditional instruments like guqin and guzheng. I practice traditional Chinese medicine in my daily life, and used it to heal my body in ways Western medicine never could. I've always spoken so highly of Chinese tradition and culture, and I can't even explain the love that I've always held for it because of it giving me the gift of finding Daoism and TCM. I genuinely tell everyone in my personal life about it, trying to spread awareness on its value. So seeing the CN fandom say such disgusting, racist, and hurtful things about us truly broke something in me. I've always felt such love towards the Chinese people, as I feel like they had granted me the gift of these beautiful aspects of my life. I thought we could coexist and appreciate each other, but I see now that we are not welcome. It just sucks. It will not stop me from fighting for Valko, because I can separate what needs to be done from my hurt. But it was horrible seeing that so many of us truly thought of them as sisters and enjoyed having an outlet to learn more about Chinese culture, yet many of them despise us regardless. Through Daoism and TCM I'm able to appreciate and be thankful for Chinese culture, but Love & Deepspace was another way to do so. It was an outlet for me to enjoy the things I already love, like the xianxia style banner we recently had and the Daoist themed Caleb 3rd myth. It also is an outfit for Westerners who haven't had the blessing of learning about Chinese culture to learn new things about it. To attack Westerners and try to oust us and attack us for being there feels counterproductive. Why would you want to discourage others from learning about and appreciating your culture? This is utterly disappointing, and paired with the fact that @Love_Deepspace mistreated their employees by removing 3 years of their hard work, has me feeling sick the last few days. I love the game with my entire heart, but I cannot support a company who does that or who is willing to rob players of an entire storyline and character we were promised over backlash from some bullies. Sorry for the rant, and no one will likely see this. That's totally fine, I just needed to vent my sadness for a moment at the loss of Valko, of my love for the game, and for the jiejies I thought we had, that we do not.
