@mattywithey Can always rely on you to get it! Seeing dad pre match before going to the ground, my nerves are through the roof! Yeah no cup final compares, and I was in Madrid in 2019. This is the biggest match in my life time! Need the final whistle now!

However today goes, this season has been extra hard. Dads’s health meant it has been my 1st going to Spurs without him after over 30 years. It’s also been cushioned by some new friendships I’ve made. Hopefully today, after 90 minutes, we’re all relieved and celebrating. #COYS

Seen a lot of this. Has to be in the context that they is about the 17th choice starting front three combo. Dom, Deki, Odobert, Simons would be ahead of RKM+Tel+Richie. The fact we have to play all three - and also therefore they have zero jeopardy for their places - is critical.

@becksie1977 The problem is that this place amplifies it. So more young people are seeing it and think it’s cool to speak and act that way. I fear for what this country is becoming. I thought the days of the National front were gone. How wrong was I. And like you it upsets me

@mattywithey Same and same. I get so upset about it all especially now because I work in a school and the hatred, the ignorance, the othering of anyone who isn't white, British born + straight..that's not a country I want for my lovely children (either school or my own). They deserve better.

@becksie1977 I do not know why they would take their kids. I’m a child of the late 70’s/80’s. My step dad massively racist, just don’t bring your kids up that way. I’m so pleased my boys have the same kind, liberal views that I have.

@becksie1977 I agree, controlled immigration is what’s needed, however a lot of that control, safe routes, able to send back (Dublin agreement) got ripped up with Brexit. Sorry, I’m on one today!

@mattywithey I get that some people went on the march worried about safety fears about illegal immigrants, against a government who they think are doing nothing. But a sizeable amount of people were there to stick up for 'true Brits' (white homegrown people) and celebrate a unity of hate :(

@DailyMail It’s part of my regular routine. I often leave my car at Newton station and do my morning run to pick it up. I did it again today because I had a pint at the match. I would say check it with my neighbours but don’t as they don’t deserve the intrusion on our road.👍🏻

I can confirm that I will be requesting the permission of the NEC to stand in the Makerfield by-election. I grew up in this area and have lived here for 25 years. I care deeply about it and its people. I know they have been let down by national politics. Ten years ago, I decided to leave Westminster. Why? Because, after 16 years, I came to the conclusion that our national political system does not work for areas like ours. I learnt this fighting its failure to invest in the Wigan borough, for justice for the Hillsborough families and against its treatment of Greater Manchester during the pandemic. Over the last decade, I have been challenging this failure from the outside and building a new and better way of doing politics. We have built Greater Manchester into the fastest-growing city-region in the UK and put buses back under public control, introducing a £2 fare cap to help people with cost-of-living pressures. However, there is only so much that can be done from Greater Manchester. Much bigger change is needed at a national level if everyday life is to be made more affordable again. This is why I now seek people’s support to return to Parliament: to bring the change we have brought to Greater Manchester to the whole of the UK and make politics work properly for people. Millions are struggling and they need the Labour Government to succeed. It has already made changes to make life better for them in its first two years. After this week, we owe it to people to come back together as a Labour movement, giving the Prime Minister and the Government the space and stability they need as the by-election takes place. I want to recognise the difficult decision taken by Josh Simons and the sacrifice he and his family are making. I have worked closely with him as Mayor on issues like flooding and illegal waste dumping and have seen first-hand how effective he has been. He has put the communities of Makerfield first, made a real difference for them and should take great pride in that. Finally, I truly do not take a single vote for granted and will work hard to regain the trust of people in the Makerfield constituency, many of whom have long supported our party but lost faith in recent times. We will change Labour for the better and make it a party you can believe in again. ENDS

It can seat up to 100 people atleast ☀️🍺☀️ Perfect for a day like this! 😎☀️🍺☀️🍺☀️🍺☀️🍺☀️ History… In the 1810’s a bypass to Highgate village was built on the main road from the north as the mail coaches had difficulty getting up the hill, especially in or after bad weather. On the highest point The Woodman was built which probably included stabling at that time. It was rebuilt on roughly the same foundations in the early part of the next century in the Arts & Crafts style with additional floors. In the 1980’s it had additional toilets and back room added which was used for pool and darts. A decked area was added on the back of the pub in 2009 to increase the outdoor seating and then a roof to part of the area to give alfresco dining for around 60 people in 2012.
