The moment I knew it worked was at the end, when I saw everything connected for the first time. Those 3 seconds were worth 2 days.

To get there I had to hold several things together: modal design, a Django endpoint handling image search without exposing API keys, debounce logic in Swift so the call only fires when you stop typing, and a native iOS calendar for date range selection.

2 days to build 3 seconds of magic. This is Junto's "create a trip" modal, type "Los Angeles" and a warm golden skyline appears, type "Tokyo" and everything shifts, cold, blue, urban, in real time as you type.

Sometimes good design isn't about adding things. It's about giving them space.

Fix: separate image from info. Photo on top, full width, breathing room. Name, dates, group size below — clean hierarchy. City chip floating over the image. Same content. Completely different feeling.

I redesigned Junto's trip cards three times. Not because they were broken. Because every time I looked at them, something was off.

I have a university exam to pass. I decided to use it to build a real product. The course covers SwiftUI, React, and Django — one project for all three. Minimum to pass: 3 screens, one GET, one POST. I'm building Junto.
