@wisconsinsane That's normally what you'd do but you have to make sure you have room to do it. Better to tie up whoever is in front of you and hope for the best. I'm sure if anyone in red had possession at that point and knew Hauser had dropped his stick he'd have iced it.

Hockey question for someone who knows the game better than me: When the Badgers goalie lost his stick, why didn’t Wisconsin’s defense just fire the puck down the ice to force an icing call to give their vulnerable goalie a break? What am I missing here?

@mcgaff_rob @jaypo1961 To me, they just need steady/competent play. Looking at his passing numbers, I doubt you are going to get a true difference maker, especially without superior surrounding talent. If he can just make the expected plays, it will be a step up. So, sort of depends on what you expect.

@jaypo1961 @THEbadgermaniac You know better than me but the OL is the worry- seems OL is more about continuity than stars- and the good UW lines had continuity. There were guys like Joe Thomas, Aaron Gibson, Chris McIntosh who came along once in a while but mostly they had continuity and personnel, system.

@mcgaff_rob @THEbadgermaniac Haven't seen him play + lone highlight I've seen is 75-yard TD run at IU. But for me it is more than QB. Is OL solid? RBs? Can they run it when they want? Can they stretch field vertically? Will offense/defense/special teams finally complement each other?

@jaypo1961 I have learned to trust your judgement Jeff but I will admit I don't see it. Western Illinois and Eastern Michigan are the only games I'd put a W next to in ink, with Rutgers and Purdue probable. If they split the rest that's eight wins but I'm not confident they do that.
