Clara supported the OTC Birth Control Collaborative with research on retail counter coverage for OTC birth control. Abby focused her work on child care access for parenting students at Maryland’s public colleges and universities.

Congratulations to our brilliant graduate student researchers on completing their capstone projects! Abby Letocha and Clara Miller partnered with the Commission for year-long projects representing the culmination of their @UMDPublicPolicy Master of Public Policy degrees.

Dr. Georgeanna Seegar Jones was a pioneer in the field of reproductive endocrinology, specializing in fertility treatment. She founded the first IVF program in the United States and mentored physicians who continue to make new discoveries in the field.

Congratulations to the 2026 inductees to the National Women’s Hall of Fame! All 11 women are deeply inspiring, but we want to highlight two incredible women from Maryland: Virginia Hall Goillot and Dr. Georgeanna Seegar Jones.
