@GinsanSecond Ah I see, for the line's quality! That is very cool . But not leaving the lines just black, coloring them (and the colors for the skin/clothes/etc and outside edges are different) that must be done manually for the most part it seems?

@meganimation all of the line thickness comes in post, via a filter. all of the lines are drawn with the same no-pressure monoline brush before processing so all of the line weight variation you see isnt actually drawn. sometimes you do get shots that have raw drawn lines but its really rare.

TEXTURED LINEWORK, COLORED LINES, EXTERIOR LINES ERASED?! Gorgeous, I don't think people realize how much additional time and money these seemingly small details add to the production but they are committing to it anyway, the dedication and care...!! makes me want to work harder

@GinsanSecond How so? It seems like the treatment must still be applied manually

@vegetableonion Yes, like only the lines around the outside of their silhouette (hard to describe in words haha)

@meganimation when you say exterior lines, do you mean like black line art around the character?

*aware the ext. lines are probably not literally 'erased' but colored the same color as the fill but the visual result...you get it

@PixelBrave Yeah I've already read/reading a fair amount of screen writing books and on the job experience, wish places like afi offered more non-degree classes and stuff bc like unfortunately the school name still means a lot to some ppl 🫩

@meganimation I took a screenwriting course in film school and I definitely feel like I get more from YouTube vids than I ever did in the classroom. That said, I think a happy compromise would be looking up creative writing courses at a community college. Same class for a quarter the price

@OrangeAndInsane Yeah I've dabbled and have been encouraged by people about it, it just feels kinda hopeless with where the industry is at today but I do enjoy writing quite a bit idk...feel like story artists are basically author/directors anyway

@meganimation Honestly just did what I did: Write your own stuff, talk and learn about writing, establish yourself as the "writer friend", get asked to script doctor projects, and then just kinda morph into the person people trust to be a good screenwriter lol

@Redundantz Agree, feel like the difference is Vash is almost always butt of those jokes, not the women - him getting his ass beat is the punchline it doesn't reward bad behavior, whereas most anime these days 🫩

NGL despite the few "pervy" scenes in Tirgun 98' Id say it actually treats all its women way better than the reboot. There is a variety of them, and almost all of them have agency in the story and are their own characters.

Commission prices are out of control. Simple as. 300 bucks for a ref sheet or basic drawing?? Hell no. That's 10 HOURS of my life I would have had to spend to be able to afford that. Actually, it's definitely more than that because the government taxes wages.
