When Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who killed her husband: “That man… that young man… I forgive him.” That moment deeply affected me. I have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad. I will say those words now as I type: “ I forgive the man who killed my father.”

I know we're joking about the rapture today, but I hope Jesus does return soon. He promised to make all things new. To wipe away every tear from our eyes, establish a new heavens & earth that are incomprehensibly beautiful & good where there is no more grief or death. Sounds nice

There are many young people who approve the killing of Charlie Kirk.
There was a "young man" who approved the killing of Stephen.
That same young man would later become a world-changer for the Messiah.
May many Sauls become Pauls in the aftermath of this. 🙏🙏🙏

If you believe free speech is for you but not your political opponents, you're illiberal.
If no contrary evidence could change your beliefs, you're a fundamentalist.
If you believe the state should punish those with contrary views, you're a totalitarian.
If you believe political opponents should be punished with violence or death, you're a terrorist.

In Charlie Kirk's own words, he thinks his death was worth it. If God almighty gave Kirk a choice to stand by his thoughtless and indifferent words, or retract them and once again be able to hold his wife and children in his arms, whaddya think he'd say?

The motivation of the man who shot Charlie Kirk isn't clear (although he's probably mentally unstable--duh). What is clear is it was another example of American gun violence.

@carparxter I’ve seen the school shooting mentioned everywhere. We do care. We want the school shootings to stop. ALSO, this was a significant political assassination and a direct attack on free speech. They are separate issues.
