Was watching a gaming podcast from a channel I like, and they are obviously very hardcore gamers... but they are pretty casual when it comes to Call of Duty Zombies stuff (at least the recent games)
And I found what they said about Modern Zombies here to be quite interesting.
Again, these are people who BARELY have played Modern Zombies, so don't waste your time getting caught up in things they might be wrong about or misinformed on, that is NOT the point here. Their impressions of what Modern Zombies is like is still important because this is a common thought from many people who have fallen out of love with Zombies.
I just found it interesting because from their perspective, they find Modern Zombies mechanics to be "too complicated" and they they preferred the simplicity of the older games. They even refer to Black Ops 3 as being the pinnacle of that.
Obviously, BO3 maps are not entirely known for being "simple"... but the important thing here is that the SYSTEMS are simple, and that's what they care about.
It basically feels like BO3 had simple mechanics, but complex maps. And Modern Zombies has simple maps, but complex mechanics (I personally wouldn't call them that complex, but it seems to be how many view it)
I think Treyarch should take this into account for future games. Maybe the complexity should come from more map-unique systems and the core systems should be a bit more basic?
