STATEMENT: The Afghanistan Withdrawal Special Review Panel has completed the substantive phase of its interviews with senior military and civilian leaders.

This Panel was established by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth at the direction of President Donald J. Trump to conduct the most comprehensive military after action review in modern history. We have now interviewed key figures involved in the planning and execution of the withdrawal, including: ▪General David H. Berger, USMC (Ret.), former Commandant of the Marine Corps; ▪General Christopher T. Donahue, USA, former Commanding General of the 82nd Airborne Division, current commander of U.S. Army Europe and Africa; ▪General Alexus G. Grynkewich, USAF, former U.S. Central Command Operations Officer, current Supreme Allied Commander of Europe; ▪General Kenneth F. McKenzie, Jr., USMC (Ret.), former Commander, U.S. Central Command; ▪General Austin S. Miller, USA (Ret.), former Commander, U.S. Forces–Afghanistan and NATO Resolute Support Mission; ▪General Mark A. Milley, USA (Ret.), former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; ▪General James J. Mingus, USA (Ret.), former Joint Chiefs Director of Operations; ▪Lieutenant General Carl E. Mundy, III, USMC (Ret.), former MARCENT Commander; ▪Lieutenant General Paul J. Rock, Jr., former MARCENT Commander, current Director of the Marine Corps Staff; ▪Lieutenant General Ricky L. Waddell, USA (Ret.), former Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Senior Military Advisor to the Secretary of State; ▪Rear Admiral Peter G. Vasely (Ret.), USN, former Commander, U.S. Forces Afghanistan – Forward at HKIA; ▪Major General Julian C. Cheater, USAF, former Over the Horizon-Counter Terrorism Operations (OTH-CT) Commander, current Director of Strategy, Policy and Plans, U.S. Southern Command; ▪Major General Derek J. O'Malley, USAF, former Commander 455th AEW, former Commander of Bagram Airfield, current Director of the Department of War Special Access Program Central Office; ▪Major General Farrell J. Sullivan, USMC, former commander of Joint Task Force–Crisis Response (JTF-CR), current Commanding General, 2nd Marine Division; and dozens of other senior officers and officials and interagency partners. In addition to these interviews, the Panel has reviewed more than NINE MILLION documents drawn from multiple agencies and prior Department of Defense efforts. By contrast, the previous Department-wide review commissioned under former Secretary Lloyd Austin examined around 3,000 documents and was significantly narrower in scope. The Secretary Austin-led effort was also over-classified at the highest levels, which effectively kept the most critical and relevant information from public scrutiny. This will be the most thorough, transparent, and honest accounting the American people have received of what happened in August 2021. We are executing at the direction of President Trump and Secretary Hegseth to deliver a full and unflinching examination of the systemic, institutional, and leadership factors that contributed to the collapse. Our purpose is to identify failures in decision-making so that we may prevent the United States from ever repeating this tragedy. It is our duty to ensure that the greatest military on Earth is accountable to the American people. Our work continues. We are now integrating the massive documentary record, cross-referencing prior reviews, and preparing our findings and recommendations. The final report will be delivered to the Secretary of War and the American people in the coming months.

@JamesMartinSJ The Pope is hiding behind the Gospel to interfere in American politics in an ungodly way. Not surprised you defend this because that's your entire shtick also. Trump has every right to defend himself politically in the political arena Pope Leo purposely entered into.

As we observe solemn week of Holocaust Remembrance, we honor the memory of the six million Jews and millions of others murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators. We stand in solidarity with survivors, their families, and all who carry the scars of that unimaginable evil. I will never forget my visit to the Warsaw Ghetto and Auschwitz. Walking through those grounds—seeing the gas chambers, the piles of shoes, eyeglasses, and personal belongings—left a profound and lasting impact on me. It was a visceral reminder of human’s capacity for evil, and of our duty to confront such hatred and darkness. We must ensure “Never Again” is not just words, but a guiding principle.

🚨 WOW! President Trump just posted this from Franklin Graham: "I do not believe President Trump would knowingly depict himself as Jesus Christ—that would certainly be inappropriate." "It was a flag, soldiers, a nurse, fighter planes, eagles, and I think this is a lot to do about nothing. There is so much ill-intended speculation. I think his enemies are always foaming at the mouth at a possible opportunity to make him look bad." "I’m thankful the President has made it very clear that this was not at all what he thought the AI generated image was representing—he thought it was a doctor helping someone, and when he learned of the concerns, he immediately removed the post." "When I looked at the illustration, I didn’t jump to the same conclusion as some. There were no spiritual references—no halo, there were no crosses, no angels." "And the illustration from someone else he reposted on Truth Social today, I must say that I like the fact that this is a picture of Jesus whispering in his ear or at least His hand on his shoulder, guiding him." "We all need that—we all need to be listening to Jesus. Again, I think there is an attempt to spin this into something that it isn’t." "Remember, President Trump didn’t draw this, he didn’t create it, he reposted it on his social media because he thought it was nice—I would have to agree." "President Trump has defended religious freedom for people of all faiths, including millions of evangelicals and Catholics in the U.S. and around the world. He is the most pro-Christian, pro-life president in my lifetime and he doesn’t shy away from it. I would hope that the President and Pope Leo can meet at some point, and that the Pope would have the opportunity to thank the President for his efforts to protect religious liberty."

Wow. Ciaramella used the old form, the one that did not allow hearsay. That means the entire impeachment was void ab initio, meaning it was legally dead on arrival. The fact that Atkinson then secretly changed the form and backdated it makes it all exponentially worse.
Hans Mahncke tweet media
Stephen McIntyre@ClimateAudit

Back in 2019, we knew that Atkinson had changed the form, but we didn't KNOW whether Ciaramella had used the new form or the old form. It turns out that he had used the old form - the form which required first hand knowledge. The copy of Ciaramella form made public excluded the first two instruction pages in which the firsthand requirement was stated. While Atkinson subsequently changed the form, it was the earlier form that was submitted (sans the two instruction pages.) Atkinson's position was that Ciaramella had first hand knowledge of some things. However, the things that he had first hand knowledge of do not appear to have been especially relevant. Atkinson cited Grassley as authority that secondhand information should be permitted for a whistleblower report. But Atkinson glossed over difference between a non-urgent concern and an urgent concern. This doesn't seem to have been focussed on in discussion. The requirement for firsthand knowledge was reasonable enough for an "urgent" concern. Another point that hasn't been discussed much. In the Solomon articles in March-April 2019 which led into these discussions, there was discussion of Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election. Trump's contiguous discussion of the CrowdStrike server supports the possibility that Trump was seeking investigation of 2016 election interference - an entirely proper request - as opposed to anticipatory interference in the 2020 election. One of the major misunderstandings of Ukrainian interference in the 2016 is that the interference was initiated by Biden cadres (especially at the Jan 2016 meeting with Ukrainiain prosecutors and Biden cadres while Biden was a leading candidate for nomination) and resulted in the Black Ledger operation that decapitated Paul Manafort as campaign chair in August 2016. The role of Biden cadres in this interference has been clouded by incorrect pointing at Clinton campaign. There was obviously no way that any of Ciaramella, Wilde or Atkinson could have reasonably been sure that the issues raised by Trump weren't related to past 2016 events, as opposed to still distant 2020 events where Biden's nomination was far from guaranteed. The issue of Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election surfaced from time to time in the 2019 impeachment hearings, but was ridiculed and shouted down by State Department officials. None of the Republicans or their staff appear to have been well enough informed to focus on the valid issues.

The judiciary is a LOST CAUSE in our country, if something doesn’t change NOW. The judge is now only allowing UNDERGROUND construction to occur at the White House Complex, which doesn’t include the Ballroom.
