How do we age? To be able to better understand and influence the aging process, a research team at the Leibniz Institute on Aging, Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI), Germany, has generated a transparent killifish line using CRISPR/Cas9. This enabled successful in vivo imaging of a GFP-senescence reporter line with single cell resolution inside entire fish using a ZEISS light sheet system. The transparent fish will be a critical tool in their research on the genes that regulate organ development and aging.
