@tankinonkidansi i knew you would get this. this is why well used act 1 rin and len sound insane.. the thing is i feel like this only applies to the cryptonloid vbs (excluding appends), all the other v2s have the classic vocaloid sound. what special sauce did crypton use

@miffuloid nobody knows what i mean when i say the act1s are weirdly realistic and it's this exactly lol

idk how to explain this but there's something very organic about the v2 cryptonloids.. even if their later versions are smoother, the v2s sound less "synthesized" so to speak? like sometimes their notes straight up sound like raw recordings

@alchemilliam I have no idea tbh!! i think it could also be that later versions had more editing involved to improve clarity and smoothness, so some of the naturalness of the samples got sacrificed in the process? (speaking from ignorance though, idk much about how a vb is made)

@miffuloid Absolutely. Every time I hear a V2 being used it just sounds more fluid than the newer versions (i.e. people recreating Mitchie-M tuning with Miku V2 sounds more natural than V3/4 Miku). Could be that CV samples were higher quality/the V2 engine rendered them more accurately?
