Philip Seymour Hoffman intentionally played Owen Davian as "bored" in Mission: Impossible III (2006). He believed a true sociopath wouldn't be theatrical, his lack of emotion made him the most terrifying antagonist in the entire franchise.

James McAvoy’s acting in Split is about as good as any acting I’ve seen in recent memory. He plays a guy with over 20 personalities. It’s an incredible display of range & I don’t really understand why more people don’t bring this performance up. He deserved awards for this film.

I genuinely feel sad that current 20 something's missed the era of $500 rent, $3 happy hour, 5 bags of groceries for under $100, multiple job offers immediately after applying, and going out to party without social media apps at your fingertips. IT WAS A TIME.

Even if 2026 turns out to be the single best year in the history of Cinema, I’m not letting people forget about 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. I’m as excited for films like Dune or The Odyssey as anyone. But The Bone Temple was breathtaking & more people should see it.

Only 84 days separate us & a new Steven Spielberg film. The fact Scorsese & Spielberg are still making movies literally 50 years after films like Taxi Driver & Jaws released amazes me. 50 years of filmmaking. And still going strong. I’ll say it again: don’t take it for granted.

I know it’s blasphemy but this one is in my top 3 cronenbergs. I love it so much. But I often like the non characteristic paycheck movie from directors because they’re filling the holes of the genre with their style. Great flick.

The Dead Zone could improve your weekend. Based on a novel by @StephenKing, after coming out of a coma, Christopher Walken is basically given psychic vision. It’s an incredibly entertaining story that gives way to an awesome Walken performance- same goes for Martin Sheen. See it!
