So I have been doing & learning some household chores which I hadn't done before. One of those things include doing dishes. I have been doing dishes since past 2 weeks I guess. A thread containing tweets about my experience doing dishes.

Of every ₹1 in the Himachal Pradesh budget: • 27 paise goes to salaries • 21 paise to pensions • 13 paise to interest payments • 9 paise to debt repayment That leaves just 20% for capital expenditure.

TODAY IT'S THE FLAG. TOMORROW IT WILL BE THE FAITH. Q: Stones on a procession, is demography triggering a deeper faultline? What happened: Communal unrest reportedly began at the Phultala traffic junction in Raghunathganj, West bengal following disturbances created during a Ram Navami procession. The situation escalated as stones were reportedly thrown at the procession from nearby houses and the Raghunathganj bridge. Further violence occurred in Shishatala village.

Sulston’s greatest find was that life requires a calculated amount of death. He noticed that the worm consistently generated 1090 cells, but the final adult only had 959. He realized that 131 cells were programmed to commit suicide. Before Sulston, scientists thought cell death was accidental (necrosis). Sulston proved that our body is a crime scene where murders are committed by design to keep the organism healthy. Cancer, in this context, is simply a cell that refuses to die when its number is up.
The Nobel Prize@NobelPrize

"If we don't understand the worm, we don't understand life." Biologist John Sulston's pioneering research on the development of cells within tiny nematode worms paved the way for new understandings of how cancers emerge. He shared the 2012 medicine prize for his discoveries.

> 6 April 2010, Naxals massacred 76 CRPF personnel, JNU celebrated the loss of the martyrs. > 6 May 2010, India’s 28th Home Minister at JNU said: “We’re ready for talks; we’re not asking you to lay down arms. We know you won’t do that because you believe in armed struggle.” UPA was literally begging Naxals to stop the attacks. Amit Shah knows only a bullet can penetrate the head of a communist, this worked. From Begging Naxals to Breaking the Naxals.

In Dhurandhar Part 1, when Ajay Sanyal entered the hijacked plane and asked the Indian passengers to chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai, the terrorist Jahoor Mistry pointed a gun at them. Out of fear, no one said it. Later, in Dhurandhar 2, Ajay Sanyal made Jahoor Mistry chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai at gunpoint in the exact same way - showing him the same fear he had once created among the passengers. This is next-level detailing by Aditya Dhar - he made Jahoor Mistry face the same style of fear in the movie.

Recently my son asked me why he needs to do mental math when calculators exist. I told him if he doesn't, he will make irrational decisions throughout his life. Let me explain. Say you see two packs of snacks. A 500g pack for ₹100, and a 200g pack for ₹45. Which one should you buy? The math is not at all hard, but people who are scared of mental math will not do it. This is not such an important decision that you pull out a calculator for it. So you make the decision on vibes - say ₹100 "looks too high", or that the smaller pack costs "less than half of the biggest one" or some such. The problem isn't that you made a poor decision on snacks. It is that if you do this repeatedly, you train your mind to make decisions on vibes. Over time your reasoning muscle atrophies - so you start relying even more on vibes. Before you know it, you are taking even big decisions on vibes. Should I rent or buy a house? Let's decide based on "EMI affordability", not rental yield. Should I invest in this IPO? I have heard of the company's brand so I'm all in. It isn't only financial or quantitative decisions either - in my mind the math muscle and the logic muscle are closely correlated, so a decline in one certainly affects the other. Like the Arab who let the camel's nose inside the tent, fear of math is the first step towards thoughtlessness, and needs to be nipped in the bud. Intellectual laziness starts with snack prices.

I drove from Noida to Rishikesh and today made it back the same day. Just a few decades ago, imagining such a comfortable round trip within a single day would have been unthinkable. The improvement in roads and connectivity has been remarkable, directly enhancing the lives of countless people living along this route. However, one aspect that was deeply disappointing was lack of cleanliness. Along the highway, torn plastic bags, biscuit and chips wrappers, and other litter were scattered everywhere. I also noticed open garbage trucks carrying sugar bagasse and other waste, with debris spilling onto the roads. In Haridwar and Rishikesh as well, the beauty of the ghats is marred by plastic waste and torn pieces of cloth. Religious tourism has immense potential to generate revenue and goodwill for India. In many other countries, such valuable assets would be managed with far greater care. It is imperative for the government to take cleanliness seriously at every level. Symbolic gestures by MPs and MLAs are not enough. What’s needed is strict enforcement and robust laws to ensure lasting change.

Don’t save this. Read it. Right now. You paid ₹1,500 for a full body checkup. Got a 12-page report. Understood maybe 2 lines of it. Meanwhile: - Your B12 is 200. Below 500 = constant fatigue, brain fog, hair fall. - Your Vitamin D is 15. Below 30 = weak bones, low immunity, weight gain. 70-80% of Indians are deficient. - Your HbA1c is 5.7. Above 5.6 = pre-diabetes. 136 million Indians are already there. You’re tired all the time. You’re losing hair. You can’t lose weight. You blame stress. It’s not stress. It’s your blood. Here’s how to actually read your report:

Madharjaat Congress Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar while speaking at Rotary Club in 2013 said "We lost 5 soldiers to Pakistan attack yesterday, don't outrage like we lost 5000. It is intelligent move to seek peace with Pakistan and China. You cannot change geography." I AM NOT MODIFYING IT, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS HARAM KA PILLA said while being a minister in Congress government

The real problem with this court order is not just one priest’s words. It is much bigger. Many religions, like Judaism, Christianity and Islam teach that theirs is the only true religion. This is not a rare opinion. It is the very heart of their faith. The Bible says Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life” and no one reaches God except through Him. That belief is what makes the religion what it is. But the Allahabad High Court has now said: “It is wrong for any religion to claim that it is the only true religion.” The court called such a claim “disparaging” to other faiths and refused to protect the priest. Think about what this really means: The court is telling believers: “You can follow your religion… but only if you stop saying out loud what your own scriptures teach.” It is asking them to change the fundamentals of their faith just to live peacefully in India. In simple words: “We will accept your religion only if you first accept that your religion is wrong (or at least keep quiet about it).” This is not fair. The Constitution gives every Indian the right to practise and preach their religion freely. The court’s job is to protect that right and keep peace, not to decide what is “correct” belief and what is “wrong” belief. By saying “claiming only one true religion is wrong,” the court is quietly pushing a Hindu-style idea that all religions are equally true (what people call “all paths are the same”). That idea may be beautiful for some, but it is not part of Christianity or Islam. Forcing it on them is like the court rewriting their religion from the judge’s chair and enforcing polytheism on the people who follow monotheism. Courts should stop crimes that actually hurt people or create riots. They should not tell any religion, “Change your basic teachings or stay silent.” That is not protecting harmony, that is changing the faith itself. In short: You cannot protect someone’s right to follow a religion by first forcing the religion to stop being what it is. That is not justice. That is the state deciding what people are allowed to believe in public.

They said no one could stand against empire. But Vietnam did. And we didn’t fight with words alone. We fought with steel in our spine and fire in our lungs. We fought barefoot in the mud, with rusted rifles, against superpowers who thought the world was theirs to rule. We made them bleed until they crawled back across oceans—beaten, broken, and no longer so sure of themselves. And we built what they said could never rise—a nation that never forgot the cost of freedom. Empire is not eternal. Resistance is.
