#LISDBoard approves the name of ES#30. Donald Lewis Hisle Elementary will open in the fall. Hisle was a Board of Trustee for more than 20 years. A servant leader, he led #1LISD through growing from 8 schools to 42 schools, from less than 10k students to nearly 40k students.

Went completely off the grid in Kauai today, joined a local & hiked through the rainforest in Huleia National Wildlife Refuge, which is closed to the public. Using 2 ropes, I climbed the cliff & walked under the 60 foot Papakolea Falls!!! Julie joined me later for a swim below!

March 13. Dang. Just a sad day for so many educators. Sending kids home from school that day, with no idea that it would be the last time we would ever be in our classroom together, will forever break my heart.

Reason 249274$55 why @kaaauthor is my #1 fave child/YA author: our ch book read aloud is Endling 🥰 And later, I see several other KA books in hands. 😏 I stop at their desks, lean over and whisper “this is the same author as Endling”. And watch the 👀😳😍 happen. Reading FTW!

Today I retired from 45 years in the workplace & can honestly say I don’t know where the time went. Fred Rogers said this about retiring: “Often when you think you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else.” Very much looking forward to new adventures!
