“Well. If we get back to my place and it’s burned to a crisp, then we’ll have nobody to call in that case.”
A playful lilt to her voice as her gaze lingers on the way the fire licks and curls.

"Bah fire safety classes were stupid anyways. Half of the teachers would've started a fire if they weren't being watched." He said as he rolled his eyes, patting her head softly as he stared at his own fireplace. "Besides, pretty sure the fire would cover any tracks sooo.."

There’s no bargaining, they are only honest in one way and that’s showing their hunger.
Though the ones she has killed do keep her up at night, there’s nothing in them left that she can empathise with. Only what once was. Now they’re controlling by their hunger alone.

Vesper takes a seat beside him, careful to not break their linked hands apart. She stokes the fire with a scrap metal prong she’d dug into some wood to keep it from getting too hot in her hand.

He freezes for a moment before hugging her back. He reaches his hand up to grab hers gently as he sits down. "Something bad must've happened for you to call me here..and remind me to give you a surprise before I leave. You might like it." He said as he gives her a soft smile.

She’s conscious of her weight on top of Monika, although she lifted her with ease. It’s habitual to try and not put her full weight down.
She reaches a hesitant hand to brush the bite on Monika’s neck, ready to withdraw if they don’t want her to touch it. She’s conflicted.

Time saving before it gets dark. It also means she’s less likely to be approached by anybody in these woods. Not that they’re all bad, but some are.
She’s already picking up a small metal bucket by the door, nails greeting her palm as she curls her fingers around the handle.
