Palestinian Dissidents in Gaza Deserve International Recognition and Support: The Renew Democracy Initiative put on a conference for dissidents from around the world titled “Frontlines of Freedom,” showcasing how advocates from different corners of the earth battle with tyrannies and transnationally oppressive forces that are regressing human progress and prosperity. I was honored to speak alongside Rushan Abbas, a Uyghur activist and entrepreneur whose work in the United States cost her family members dearly at the hands of Chinese authorities, and Mu Sochua, a Cambodian politician and rights activist who is a senior opposition figure working to overcome a repressive political environment in her homeland. I spoke about Hamas in Gaza and the challenges facing Palestinian activists in the Strip who are often dismissed by human rights advocates, democracy activists, and other dissidents, because of the nearly exclusive focus on the Israeli dimension of the conflict, without understanding the internal dynamics of Palestinian society. Hamas in Gaza is a human rights issue. There are numerous Palestinian dissidents against the terror groups’ fascist rule and control of the population who deserve our support and empowerment. It pains me that much of the international human rights community has been willing to give Hamas a pass, due to their inability to truly hold multiple truths and address Israel’s actions while holding Palestinian groups accountable for their crimes. Hamas is a disaster for the Palestinian people and their national project for freedom and independence; Hamas has brought so much devastation and regression to Palestinian society; Hamas squandered decades, tens of billions of dollars, and tens of thousands of Palestinian lives for absolutely nothing. Gaza is indeed a frontline for the fight of an entire people to be free from the grip of a fascist, terrorist organization, as the first necessary step to emancipate them from Israeli control and military occupation. There is no Palestinian freedom without freedom from Hamas first and foremost, and freedom from the violence and Jihadi “resistance” rhetoric and narrative that the Islamist group represents. The fight for Palestinian rights takes a lot more than simply being anti-Israel, even if one is furious with Israeli actions and policies against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank – Palestinian dissidents in Gaza deserve international recognition and support. @Renew_Democracy @Kasparov63 @RushanAbbas @sochua_mu @UrielEpshtein

A couple of days ago, I exposed how Hamas deliberately hoarded tons of infant formula and children’s nutritional shakes to manufacture a famine narrative in Gaza; consider this Vol. 2 of that same cruelty. This 2008 footage shows Palestinian boys, some as young as 14, crawling into suffocating smuggling tunnels to dig for hours in lethal conditions so that a vile terror mafia can profit while hiding behind their bodies and their childhoods. Hamas’s torture of young Palestinians is not an aberration but a method: starve our babies, exploit our teenagers, then weaponize their suffering as content for propaganda and as a human shield against accountability. If you claim to be “pro-Palestine” yet cannot bring yourself to condemn this systematic abuse of Palestinian children by Hamas, you are not standing with my people—you are standing with their oppressors. And remember, this was just the beginning of Hamas’s sprawling terror tunnel networks; their exploitation of children, teenagers, and unemployed Gazans got 10x worse in the lead up to October 7th.

Today, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, and the United States Coast Guard, with support from the Department of War, executed a seizure warrant for a crude oil tanker used to transport sanctioned oil from Venezuela and Iran. For multiple years, the oil tanker has been sanctioned by the United States due to its involvement in an illicit oil shipping network supporting foreign terrorist organizations. This seizure, completed off the coast of Venezuela, was conducted safely and securely—and our investigation alongside the Department of Homeland Security to prevent the transport of sanctioned oil continues.

During the worst of the days of the hunger crisis in Gaza in the past six months, Hamas deliberately hid literal tons of infant formula and nutritional shakes for children by storing them in clandestine warehouses belonging to the Gaza Ministry of Health. The goal, as I said then, was to worsen the hunger crisis and initiate a disaster as part of the terror group’s famine narrative in a desperate effort to stop Israel’s onslaught against Gaza and force the return of the UN’s aid distribution mechanism, and away from the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). Now, activists in the Strip are documenting the waste and deliberate disposal of tons of infant formula, nutritional children’s shake, and children’s powdered milk, which Hamas had hoarded away, given the saturation of the coastal enclave with humanitarian aid after the ceasefire two months ago. When countless other Palestinian activists and I from Gaza said this back in July, August, and September, we were villainized, attacked, threatened, and made into pariahs by the “pro-Palestine” industrial complex and activist mafias, even though for Gazans, the evidence was so clearly apparent before our eyes. What those in the West continue to fail to understand is that there is no being pro-Palestine without also having a serious vigilance against Hamas’s continued manipulation of international public opinion to hide behind the Strip's civilian population's suffering, something that the terrorist organization’s own actions have led to and created. Never allow yourself to be a useful idiot in Hamas’s propaganda. You can have compassion for the real suffering of the Palestinian civilians of Gaza, and demand Israeli action to facilitate aid entry into the coastal enclave, while still holding Hamas accountable for its part in causing a hunger and starvation crisis in the first place.

117 Gazans requiring medical care and their accompanying relatives, left Gaza today (Dec. 8) for medical care in Romania, Italy, Norway and Belgium, via Kerem Shalom and to the Ramon Airport. This movement followed specific requests from foreign governments and UN bodies, and each person was authorized by Israel’s security authorities. We call on governments and international organizations to keep coordinating and to expand their support for medical evacutions, many are already doing so. Israel remains fully committed to cooperating with the international community to enable and assist the evacuation of patients and their caregivers.

One of the most disgusting Hamas “journalists”, “former politicians”, and “pro-resistance” mouthpieces in Gaza, someone who is so deeply loathed and hated by so many Palestinians, and who spent months attacking the United Arab Emirates and its many efforts to provide aid to the Palestinian population, Fayez Abu Shammala, wanted to collect aid today. He went and got a box from the “al-Fares al-Shahem or the Chivalrous Knight” operation, which is the umbrella UAE mission to provide Gazans with aid since the war following October 7. Mr. Hamas terror resistance pro-October 7 commentator complained that the box of UAE aid didn’t have “meat, dates, biscuits, or milk,” as if he’s expecting a 5-star service from the very country he’s spent so long condemning, attacking, mocking, and belittling. Ironically, he recently got dates from an UAE aid distribution center but decided to throw them away because he thought the Emirates “supports genocide in Gaza and Sudan.” Additionally, the boxes, which were similar to those I had a chance to prepare during the UAE food airdrop missions I participated in a few months ago, contained dates, biscuits, canned meat, and milk. So either Mr. Hamas is lying, or his terror buddies stole valuable components of the boxes before distributing them to the rest of the people of Gaza. I’m sharing this not because I care about this particular gross individual, for he is a useless voice that’s part of a cacophony of noise. However, there is a well-established class of Hamasnik types in Palestinian society who want the glory of “resistance” and encourage more death and destruction between Palestinians and Israelis, but don’t want to deal with the consequences of “resistance,” like living in ruins or having to get by on very little because of the war they and their favorite groups start. Mind you, the aid that’s been provided to Gaza is orders of magnitude greater than what’s been sent to Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, and many conflict zones around the Middle East, and indeed, around the world. Thank you to all who support the humanitarian needs of the people of Gaza and are shouldering the burden created by Palestinian terrorists who got their civilian population annihilated and destroyed, but don’t want to take any responsibility for their vile, irresponsible, criminal, and horrid actions.

This week, the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) worked with an international organization that cleared debris from a major road critical to the flow of humanitarian aid in central Gaza. This video shows clearing operations on Salah-Al-din Road along a key north-to-south logistical route in Gaza. More than 40 nations and international organizations at the CMCC are coordinating to deliver and distribute commercial goods and aid to Gazan civilians. Over the past week, international partners have delivered a daily average of nearly 800 trucks worth of aid, an increase from a daily average of 600 trucks in prior weeks. The timely delivery and distribution of humanitarian assistance is critical to Gaza’s stabilization and progress towards peace.
