Bill 29, introduced today, is another attempt by Danielle Smith and the UCP to further privatize health care in Alberta and create a two-tier system, where some people can skip the line for diagnostic services while others are left waiting as the public system continues to struggle. Bill 29 does nothing to address the staffing shortages in our health care system. Instead, it will siphon the workers we do have into private care. The UCP has already wasted hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars on privatization schemes. Albertans don’t need more of that. Alberta’s New Democrats will continue to fight to strengthen a public health care system that everyone can access, regardless of their ability to pay.

The UCP aren't lying about job creation in Alberta. Their cabinet has ballooned to 38 members, the largest in Alberta history!
