12-ft. high tule reeds along Lake Merced, not far from where I’m staying, currently (you can see the tops of the ParkMerced condos in the distance). It’s lovely to have a semblance of nature and wildlife in a dense urban area—the City of SF provides an excellent example of this.

This man right here is Fred Edwards. He is one of the most dedicated BART employees I have ever met. He is a high level manager (he has worked his way up) and he spent the entire day yesterday on the downtown SF platforms helping people get on the right train. We need more Freds.
