This kind of stuff is bleak. I get that we’re in a new era, but we desperately need a new crash course in media literacy, or just a reminder to be remotely discerning. The governor of Texas should not be sharing an obviously fake photo from a slop account.

@magi_jay Like, my folks made sure I understood what white supremacy was at a very early age. I was taught about the Klan, [Neo-]Nazis, the Soviets, antisemitism, cults, etc. My folks made sure I understand. So this seems less of a shock to my system, even a little expected.

I agree. Which is one reason I try to be so "open" on social media. Maybe it's not to everyone's taste, but I think we've gotten to a point where we tend to be too streamlined as human beings and, in its essence, that factionalization prevents the establishment of shared truth.

I'm not being facetious here, nor am I trying to be cruel. I am honestly asking all of us to consider who we engage in debate with? Who is worthy of our time? Who will we develop good ideas with? I don't think the answer is: people who respond w/ Freshman Level illogical fallacy.
