In the 8 years before I was elected, Marylanders saw the nonfatal shooting rate double, the homicide rate nearly double, and a Baltimore that experienced a homicide a day. Now, we’re seeing some of the most significant drops in violent crime across the country, stronger partnerships between communities and law enforcement, and common-sense steps to keep violence out of our communities.
