Biden was clearly suffering from greater cognitive decline than Trump currently is.
Trump's decline has more to do with deterioration in impulse control (which was never a strong suit of his to begin with) than in intellectual ability (also never a particularly strong suit of his).
This makes him a less pathetic figure than Biden, but arguably a more dangerous one.
Bottom line: People this old have no business being president of the world's most powerful country.

I had some friends who went to Hampshire College, back in the early 70s. I visited once.
The place was a temple of hedonism, and its raison d'être was only to be a thumb in the eye to all of the West's academic and cultural traditions. It was an early garrison of the "long march" that followed the terrible shipwreck of the 1960s.
Good riddance.

The Sabrina Carpenter incident reminded me of this Atlantic article originally titled “Why do White People Love Quiet?”.
The author was shocked that when she went to an Ivy League school her classmates expected her not to blast music at 2 in the morning.

Certainly it seems that way in here. The level of discourse is crude -- "Oh yeah? Then who created God??" -- but that's to be expected when people are just engaging seriously (rather than flippantly and dismissively) with these questions for the first time.

Is it me, or are more and more people actually grappling with the question of the existence of God? It seems that even just a few years ago theism was on the decline, and public dispute about the ultimate ground of Being was relatively rare. Now it seems that more and more people are drawn to confront it, everywhere I look.
