@nakedjockman @MrPitbull07 I’m a server. If I didn’t have to kiss your butt for tips, what do expect your service to be like? I’d walk up, say “what do you want?” And you would never see me again. Extra sauces, fresh plates, new napkins, drink refills, clearing and cleaning your table; all gone.

I paid a $169.29 breakfast bill and left the tip at $0. Not because I didn’t notice the line — but because tipping, for me, is still a personal choice, not a fixed charge. The meal itself was fully paid for. The prices were set, the tax was added, and the total was clear. Covering that bill already supports the restaurant, its staff, and its operations. That part of the transaction was complete. What made this moment uncomfortable wasn’t the math — it was the pressure that followed. Tipping used to be a way to say “thank you” when service stood out. Somewhere along the way, it shifted into an expectation that can feel detached from the actual experience. Everyone comes in with different circumstances, different standards, and different limits. Respecting that choice — whatever the number — is part of keeping trust between customers and businesses. When that respect slips, so does the desire to come back. Credit: Lena Anderson via FB

@MillyMonteiro4 @nakedjockman @MrPitbull07 You do realize you are being controlled right? Restaurants only started doing this because they could. They started lowering wages and telling wait staff they have the option to make more from tips. They dangle a carrot that lets them keep more money in their pocket.

@nakedjockman @MrPitbull07 Restaurant servers make less that way way below minimum wage. The others mentioned receive minimum wage. If there weren't servers, we would all run around serving ourselves at restaurants🤷

@taya_time @nakedjockman @shannan_card @MrPitbull07 Ok, and to your point. What about the cook in the kitchen? The guy at Burger King? You are telling me the waiter or waitress deserves more just because they bring out the food. But the cook should be homeless because he can’t pay his rent? Your argument is crap. Think harder.

@nakedjockman @shannan_card @MrPitbull07 Someone who can afford a $170 meal shouldn't bitch about paying the people who served him. What a stuck up asshole. In California, 16.90/hr (35k/year) barely pays for rent, gas, and food. Y'all some greedy fucks. Make your own damned plate and get your down drinks.

@MarkBozon @seanfeucht So if nobody died in ice conflicts with protestors, and they did not round up people that looked illegal, you would be in favor of the mass deportation of illegal immigrants?

Does anyone know why the price of natural gas still hasn’t come down? Has the government repealed a lot of their policies that hurt natural gas? I know I’m not the only one who was excited to meet their budget this month only to be slammed with a surprise bill.

@audrawrongspeak I was wrong. I just looked it up. Natural gas is cheaper by comparison today. I wonder why the world has not started shifting back natural gas like they did in the 80’s. I remember when hospitals would use absorption chillers to reduce electricity bills. They don’t do that now.

@audrawrongspeak It might be hard for you to believe but it is down. It spiked so high in 2022, it came back down but not to what it was before. Gas prices go up during winter and winter storms. 70’s and 80’s was cheaper to use gas. Today electric is cheaper in comparison.

@audrawrongspeak I never saw you as having lack of self respect. I only saw you as trusting that other people were as intelligent as you. This is a common misconception. As you age, you learn the ones who make the most noise know the least.

They’re admitting me my heart rate keeps jumping all the way up to 165-170 and then dropping back down, and I’m having contractions that I can’t feel. Please pray for us, pray for the family that my husband’s work will understand, that baby will be okay, that I’ll be okay ❤️

@audrawrongspeak I guess. I thought was for safety reasons. You know like when they delay live TV so they can cut it when something happens like during the Super Bowl when Janet Jackson popped out on stage.

No you are both want-a-be’s. People who grow in the country think they missed out on the action in the city. People who get tired of the city wish they had the laid back country life. It happens to a lot of us. That is how I take this anyway. Coming from someone who wishes they were back in the country because the Burbs life sucks.

The algorithm is so comically bad now and I’m not even mad. I am not about to start spewing pro-war hottakes and hoeslop so it will boost me. Just gonna hang with the 500,000 of you who get to see me daily and hope this passes.

Interesting fact. Paying for a blue check mark does absolutely nothing for the number of views you get. I don’t even need you to like or comment. I can see it in the analytics. I do not get any more views than I did before. Paying for X is a waste of money.

@RepMTG How much could total costs fall if we got rid of insurance entirely? Rough estimates from economists who have modeled this (Cato, John Goodman, Heritage, some actuarial firms):

Government is the problem. Get the government out of healthcare that is the fix. Evidence that removing insurance forces prices way down 1. Surgery Center of Oklahoma (cash-only surgery center) • Posts all-inclusive prices online (e.g., knee replacement $9,900, heart bypass $70k). • Same procedures at nearby insured hospitals: $50k–$120k. • They’re booked solid, and regular hospitals now advertise “We’ll beat any cash price” because they’re losing patients. 2. LASIK, cosmetic surgery, veterinary care
These are almost never covered by insurance → patients pay cash. • Real (inflation-adjusted) price of LASIK has fallen ~30% since 1998 while quality skyrocketed. • Botox, breast implants, vet care: prices either flat or falling for 20+ years.
Contrast: every insured service (hip replacement, colonoscopy, childbirth) has risen 3–8× faster than inflation. 3. Direct Primary Care (DPC) and cash-only doctors
Typical DPC membership: $50–$100/month for unlimited primary care, labs, and basic procedures.
That’s 40–70% cheaper than the insurance-billed equivalent. 4. Current uninsured / self-pay hospital discounts
When hospitals know the patient is paying cash (no insurer involved), they routinely knock 30–70% off the bill upfront — because they avoid billing fights and get paid immediately. So yes — wherever insurance has been removed or never existed, prices collapse toward something normal people can afford.

Again, fix health insurance!!! Democrats created this nightmare where is the Republican plan to solve this crisis? No one is walking around blaming Venezuela for their problems. Put America First!!!
Santiago@svpino

My health insurance in the US. Family of 4. $15,000 deductible. $20,000 out-of-pocket. You can't call this health insurance. This is just to protect against a catastrophe. We are the dumbest country in the world that can't figure out how to fix this broken system.
