Consultations on the proposed EAC Political Confederation Constitution continue in Kigali, Rwanda, bringing together Ministries, Permanent Secretaries, the Office of the Attorney General, parastatals and other key stakeholders. To inform the drafting process, the Constitutional Experts have examined confederation models from other jurisdictions and reviewed the EAC Treaty, Protocols and related legal instruments to ensure consistency with the Community’s legal framework. @AguerAriik @EACJCourt @EA_Bunge @RwandaMFA

Mbundi, noted that the consultations will bring together a broad spectrum of stakeholders including government institutions, Parliament, the Judiciary, academia, civil society, the private sector, youth, women, persons with disabilities, faith-based organisations, political parties and the media. “These engagements are designed to deepen public participation in shaping the institutional and governance framework of the Political Confederation and to ensure that Rwanda’s perspectives are fully reflected in the draft Constitution.” @RwandaMFA @EA_Bunge @EACJCourt
