Dave Farrar and myself both commentated at Wembley on Clitheroe in the FA Vase twenty-nine years ago. He was there today doing the global TV coverage, I was there for @talkSPORT2 - neither of us have changed a bit !

@AlanBiggs1 I have no skin in the game Alan but when you consider Patterson’s save at the start can anyone say he wouldn’t save it but you can make a case of saying Souza’s presence was an issue. But totally with anyone who says VAR shouldn’t be brought in forone game ! Stockport will agree

Fair point for me, this. Shows this is a subjective call which could have gone either way - & why, like so many, I don’t like VAR. Provides an opportunity to disallow goals no-one is questioning real time. Decision neither right nor wrong, go with original.

@AlanBiggs1 Moment the ball is struck. They love their fancy lines for offside. Why don’t they draw one for this? Souza isn’t blocking anything and no way Patterson gets to the ball the way it’s struck. A total nonsense.

@mjshrimper In my experience the NL Final was massively over-priced compared to the FA Finals Day and buying from the Portal added more expense but the NL continually persist with this

Some may ask what’s the point of staging this game at Wembley if you can’t give fans the full experience & allow clubs to maximise the financial benefits. If all goes well, we will set a new record & every true fan will get a ticket. But it shouldn’t be this hard. 12/12

@nadderley @ClassicTranmere Jim Platt I recall, Simon Farnworth. His Wiki profile has him playing for Cardiff and then going to the States where he still is. No mention of Rovers, or Scunthorpe (maybe he was on trial)

I remember most of the names apart from the keeper, Billy Irwin, (do you @trfc_paul remember him ??)
I remember the Halifax keeper being at Manchester United earlier in his career
