Let me give my reason: I've always been a huge fan of OSS, I still am, but personally there’s almost no value in making your software open source anymore. This AI era has shown one thing—OSS is not appreciated enough. People just take stuff from you without contributing back. They fork your code, use LLMs to enhance it, profit off it, and never give back to the original project. This happens especially with big tech companies. I’ve seen several OSS maintainers complain about these companies using their code and not even giving them credit.
