Random thoughts about hockey, fishing, finance, politics and life. I love the Montreal Canadiens and Brantford Bulldogs! The views expressed are that of my own.

WOW A former Trudeau advisor criticizes the Carney Liberals on CBC for pushing Canada toward a surveillance state with Bill C-22: "The bill allows public safety to demand access for law enforcement... while users are kept in the dark." "There's not any judicial oversight."

@dubsndoo If the idea was to support ridership, the Montreal to Quebec line would be nixed. The most effective would have Toronto connected with Niagara, perhaps ending in Grimsby. But we need to appease Quebec as always.

A lot of Liberal muppets on here are saying that high speed rail would *service* 19 million people. Let’s be serious for a moment; what would the expected ridership be? It would be a small portion of that number that would use the train on a regular basis.

@MitchyGallo On most other teams, he would be the talk of the town. We just have an embarrassment of young riches, which is awesome. The flipside is that he probably doesn’t feel the pressure from the fan base and media.

Kapanen has over 20 goals as a rookie and plays a solid two way game but he’s not legitimate?
Marco D'Amico@mndamico

@MitchyGallo And look, I've said it. One strong summer and this team's window begins to open. But I don't think you can legitimately believe they Stanley Cup contenders just yet without a legitimate 2C and an top-end bottom-six. At least the hard part (assembling the core) is done.

@Mike_E87 @MarcNixon24 Read history...Elimination of private enterprise in core sectors is communism. Owning grocery stores is just one piece of that much larger puzzle. The new NDP leader wants government to run all industries... welcome to communism.

@mario4thenorth It is the same lame excuse slave owners used when slavery was being abolished. If you cant tun a business paying a decent wage, you or your business is not viable.

They said that Tax breaks and foreign labour “would help franchisees maintain customer traffic and support affordability” We are willing to sacrifice our country’s immigration policy for a donuts company that’s no longer Canadian. Insane

🚨 BREAKING: Tim Hortons told the government they NEED foreign workers to fill jobs. They didn’t try raising wages. They called a lobbyist instead. And the government said yes. Every time.

@MitchyGallo 1. Habs may need to move on from Dach in the off season, among other upgrades. 2. Get a coach for defence.

Here's my three takeaways from tonight's 4-3 Montreal Canadiens loss to the Anaheim Ducks brought to you by Snap Bar Sportif in Rigaud. 1 – Kirby can’t catch a break Poor Kirby Dach just can’t seem to stay healthy. It’s hard not to feel bad for him because every time it looks like he might be gaining some traction, another setback pops up. Last night, Dach celebrated playing in career game number 300, which was somewhat surprising considering his constant trips to the injured list. This time it looks like an upper-body injury will keep him out for a little while after an awkward hit from Jeffrey Viel that he didn’t seem ready for. At this point, the Canadiens probably know that having Dach in the lineup is a nice luxury — but it’s something they can never fully count on. 2 – Caufield can’t stop, won’t stop After missing a game with illness, Cole Caufield picked up right where he left off, scoring in back-to-back games. Don’t look now, but he’s one goal away from becoming the first Montreal Canadien to score 40 goals in a season since home games moved to the Bell Centre. All season long he’s found ways to score from different areas of the ice and in different ways. That’s what the best goal scorers in the league do, and it’ll be fun to see where Caufield finishes in the league scoring race by the end of the season. 3 – Defensive woes Montreal’s mistakes in its own zone continue to be an issue. It cost them against the San Jose Sharks, and the same problems popped up again against the Ducks. Every goal against tonight came as the direct result of avoidable mistakes. At this point in the season, it’s far too late for any kind of major system change. Players have more than 60 games of habits built into how they play. Coaches can tweak reads or responsibilities within the system, but the overall structure usually stays the same especially when there’s very little practice time available. Still, if the Canadiens can’t clean up those mistakes, they’ll continue to haunt them down the stretch. @tsn690 #tsn690

🇨🇦🍞📈 : Liberal MP Julie Dabrusin explains that the industrial carbon tax on food production doesn't raise the price of food. 🌞 But of course Liberals assert the tax is needed because it will save the planet from climate change. Julie then goes on to explain Liberals have lowered taxes, to lower costs. So apparently only some taxes raise costs, not others. 🤣
