@ioshints @gregfoletta Low end SRX platform can operate in both packet mode (mpls) and flow mode (firewall,IPSec,idp, etc) and you can combine both on the same platform. I did some implementation combining Mpls L3VPN with IPSec VPN on this platform. Look at juniper.net/documentation/… for an introduction

@gregfoletta Juniper SRX might have some of that. Never tried it out though /cc @nmodena

@ioshints Do you know of any firewalls that support MPLS or EVPN? Drives me nuts that I have to VRF-lite up into a data centre fabric with firewalls hanging off the border leaf switches.

3-node rpi k8s cluster running Juniper cRPD with evpn type-5 routes over vxlan tunnels. Uses 9W for a total of 12 cores (2GHz), 24GB RAM and 96GB eMMC discs. Nice real dev lab for multus, flannel and platter (crpd) cni.

Just built a 400-node "honeycomb" mesh with Juniper cRPD using ISIS on a single server. Deployed via docker-compose with all routes learned in less than 2 minutes (try this with real hardware ;)). Check the auto-generated topo map (using igraph). gitlab.com/mwiget/honeyco…
