Concerning the petition, there are a number of things to consider. It certainly won't guarantee another general election. It also is very unlikely that parliament will debate the petition. They're not obliged to. But let's consider a few statistics. At the last GE, 9.7 million people voted for Labour, the lowest number of votes a winning party has garnered since the 1940s. Reform received just over 4 million votes. Adding together all of the votes for parties other than Labour, you get a figure of around 20 million. So much as Labour like to remind us that they won by a landslide (and they did, because they gained a supermajority), more than twice as many people voted for someone else, half as many voted for Reform, and twice as many voted for the UK to leave the EU. So a landslide victory in seats won, but hardly a mandate. And I would suggest that Labour would do wise to listen to the people, adjust some of their policies, reverse some of the decisions they've made, because if they don't, it's unlikely that they'll win at the next general election. They've betrayed some of their core voter base. And even if there is no viable alternative for the right-wing/conservative voter to consider, there will be tactical voting to keep Labour out. Let's hope Labour don't completely fuck the country up in the meantime.

I've been on 🟦sky for a couple days, now. There's so much less hate over there. And more talk about books and writing. I don't have the spoons for this place, anymore. I'm thinking about making a complete switch.
