what phrase do you think producers use the most?🗣️

I take on a lot of roles as a producer. I sound design, engineer, executive produce projects, market, etc. But ngl, if I just focused on making beats, I could prolly make about 60 solid ones every month. And thats being conservative

Despite all that, I'm still here, and I'm still chasing after my best track - its always one day ahead of you. I'm grateful to be able to make music and to enjoy the process, even when it gets a lil crazy

Back in 2019, I almost quit the online producer game cus I lost the session files to everything that I did before then. That was literally over 300 beats. I couldn't sell stems to anything I previously made without remaking it first

Since 2015, I've had 4 computers break down on me, and 5 hard drives stolen out of my car at the same time.

@BeatStars Ya know, I was totally against compression on individual sounds until recently. If you use it lightly, it can do some transient shaping. But otherwise, I'd stay away and leave compression for gluing the drum bus

There are things that are more important than min/maxing your income. Cus at a certain point, you can't make enough to buy contentment. Theres a sweet spot between how much you make and how much you wanna be committed to

I'm a small business. I could *hypothetically* make more money running a label, or doing a management gig, or opening a distribution company than I do as a musician but I would be entirely out of my wheelhouse. I'd take on more risk and enjoy the work less

Small business is perfectly valid. Every business doesn't have to be a fortune 500 company
